London Child House Pilot

Improving support for young people with experience of CSE/CSA, bringing together medical, investigative and therapeutic services under one roof alongside support throughout the criminal justice process.

Project Description

The Lighthouse provides support to children and young people who have been a victim of child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation as well their non-offending families and carers.

The Lighthouse is based on the Child House model of international best practice, bringing together medical, investigative and therapeutic services ‘under one roof’, alongside support for child victims to progress more rapidly through the criminal justice and court process.

This service is the first of its kind in the UK and is based in Camden, supporting children and young people across the North Central sector of London. The Lighthouse is supporting approximately 500 children and young people per year in North Central London, specifically in Camden, Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.

The Lighthouse opened in October 2018. Originally funded for two years, MOPAC and NHS England have agreed to continue to co-fund the service until September 2021.
