All Innovation Programme and PiP projects are independently evaluated to understand what has worked, and what has not, and why.

The evidence from these reports is also informing our programme of learning events, guides and project tools.

Evaluation coordinators have supported us during Rounds One, Two and Three of the Innovation Programme (Rees Centre - University of Oxford for Round One and Opcit Research for Round Two and Three). The evaluation coordinators

• assure the quality of project evaluation plans to ensure that they enable us to learn about what works at a programme as well as individual project level

• oversee the progress of evaluations and collate and analyse findings at a programme level

• support the development of the evidence base for the What Works Centre

Independent evaluation organisations, including universities, are working with projects to underake evaluations. They are:

• working with projects to develop strong evaluation plans that meet local needs and, critically, contribute to a whole programme evaluation

• deliver high-quality studies over the life of the projects, assessing the impact of the projects and drawing out key findings about what works

Final evaluation reports for all Round One projects are available on each project’s page. Interim evaluation reports for Round Two projects are expected to be available in January 2019, with final reports published in summer 2020.
