Partners in Practice Advisory Board

The Minister of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi, will chair the newly created Partners in Practice Advisory Board. The board will attempt to understand excellent practice and provide advice on how it can be most effectively disseminated along with reviewing the overall value for money aspect from Partners in Practice (PiP) activity, as well as general recommendations on how the programme can be strengthened.

The board will consist of representatives from the Department:

Along with five external board members, we want to ensure that the PiP programme maximises its potential to share best practice and improve children’s social care. We have recruited board members who can support this aim and bring a different perspective to the programme through their roles as leaders in large organisations, with expertise in finance and change management.

The external board members are:

Stella Manzie, David Bird and Helen Nixseaman were selected through a fair and open recruitment process. David Fairhurst has been asked to support the board as part of his current work in the DfE supporting the Innovation Programme. Michael Sanders will advise the board in his capacity as Chief Scientist and Director of Research at the Behavioural Insights Team.
